We are in need of a dynamic individual to drive our resident shuttle bus for scheduled excursions.
Background
- Keen interest in working with seniors.
- Experience working in a retirement residence setting.
- Willing to work flexible hours, days, occasional evenings and weekends.
- Three years or more driving experience with seniors.
- Excellent Physical Health: must be able to lift items like walkers, and heavy shopping bags.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Activities Manager and department staff with the planning of weekly excursions in and around the Ottawa area.
- Complete trip inspection reports and circle checks before and after each excursion.
- Assist Activity Manager and staff on excursions.
- Assist Activity Manager and staff with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must demonstrate strong written and verbal English skills.
- Must possess a valid and class of drivers license, with a clean driving record; ON - Class F or Class B license with experience driving with passengers.
- Will have proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Enjoys working closely with team members and has a strong desire to provide our seniors with a better quality of life.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Previous experience working with seniors is considered an asset.
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one as well as a satisfactory Tuberculosis test.
