Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to assistance with activities of daily activities, personal care, outings, light housekeeping, shift reports, and creating activity plans.
Qualifications:
- PSW Certificate from an accredited school
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Vulnerable Sector Police check
- TB Negative test
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Experience with Dementia and Acquired Brain Injury would be an asset
- Bilingual (French and English) would be an asset
- Personal transportation would be an asset
Other Skills and Abilities
Experience working with clients who have cognitive impairments (short term memory, acquired brain injuries). Able to understand the clients’ needs and respond appropriately. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach freely; and freely lift 23 kilograms; able to assist clients with pivot transfers, able to assist the client with dressing.
