Manager of Special Initiatives

Contract until March 31, 2023

The Champlain Community Support Network (CCSN) is a bilingual collective of community-based, non-profit organizations with the shared commitment to work together to respond to today’s challenges in health and community health for older adults and adults living with disabilities. CCSN provides an opportunity for groups to work together to guide, influence, and plan systems, policy, and practice.

The Manager of Special Initiatives will provide support in identifying gaps and opportunities across the system, ensure a continuous quality improvement approach, provide leadership and implementation of project plans related to specific CCSN strategic initiatives, and will apply their skills in change management, adult learning, facilitation, and knowledge mobilization to support CCSN’s member agencies.

Position is mainly conducted remotely in a work-from home environment with some local travel within the Champlain region, in adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Implementation

  • Lead the development and implementation of special initiatives related to the annual action plan and CCSN Strategic Directions.
  • Create, implement, and support project plans to enhance and expand CCSN initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental scans, best-practice reviews, and literature reviews.
  • Facilitate and support working groups and committees of CCSN and its partners.
  • Develop and communicate recommendations related to key initiatives.

 

Knowledge Mobilization

  • Work collaboratively with CCSN members to create and implement knowledge mobilization and training plans that reflect member agency needs and aligns with CCSN strategic objectives and activities.
  • Prepare and provide presentations and training sessions both online and in-person.
  • Conduct project evaluations and analysis to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare reports and communiques for various audiences, including CCSN Leadership Table and funders.
  • Develop resources and learning tools to support data literacy, implementation and practice change.
  • Support the communication and knowledge translation and mobilization plans.

 

Quality Improvement

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to inform stakeholders.
  • Foster increased sector capacity through education, training, and innovation.
  • Provide regular reports on activities, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Work with community agency partners to identify process changes.

 

Qualifications, Experience, Credentials

  • Undergraduate degree in health or social sciences, knowledge mobilization. (Graduate degree preferred).
  • Five to Seven years’ experience of professional experience in adult education and program development, project planning and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Community Support Services.
  • A collaborative team member with track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing project work plans.
  • Self-directed.
  • Critical analysis, problem solving, planning, excellent professional judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in remote locations.
  • Demonstrated skills in group facilitation and adult education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to joint initiatives.
  • Ability to partner and motivate community and groups.
  • Excellent skills in use of computer applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), as well as online meeting and webinar supports and platforms (Zoom, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey).
  • Bilingual (French and English) preferred.
  • Police Record Check.
  • Valid Ontario’s driver’s license and access to vehicle.

Salary/Hours

  • Starting salary $54,233/year
  • 35 hours/week
