JOB DESCRIPTION:
Laurysen Kitchens is a family owned business that has been creating award-winning kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry and closets for over 45 years. The 55,000 square foot manufacturing facility, located in Stittsville (approximately 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa), is constantly looking to increase efficiency through increased machine integration, quality control measures and improving lean manufacturing tools and techniques.

What will you do in this role?
- Maintain the ERP Database, including production configuration and updates
- Analyse data using SQL and excel to identify trends, problems, potential improvements, etc
- Create and maintain reports in Crystal Reports
- Assist with shop floor integration of the ERP system
- Worked with individuals from all areas of the shop to identify issues and implement changes
- Utilize AutoCAD to update shop floor drawing and product configurations
- Assist with shop floor integration of the ERP system
- Assist with implementation of 5S and lean manufacturing
- Create production inventory programs (blanket PO's, manufacturing and purchasing stock control within ERP system)
- Implement Cobus CAD/CAM to generate CNC data for the production of kitchen components as well as cabinet door components
- Compile data to improve the scheduling process and to implement KPI's to improve production capacity and quality
- Develop and implement procedures to decrease CNC machine setup and processing time as well as quality inspection processes
- Abide by all rules and requirements as prescribed under the company's Health & Safety Program
What will allow you to succeed in this role?
- Graduated from post-secondary education in engineering or equivalent program with field related work experience
- Must be analytical thinker with strong communication skills and enjoys a hands-on approach and has ability to build relationships in order to drive change
- Enjoy hands on approach and be adaptive and flexible in approach with ability to think on your feet and efficiently and effectively mitigate unforeseen issues
- Ability to work with people of all backgrounds and organizational levels
- Previous exposure to programming in any language with an active interest in developing skills in this area.
- SQL and database maintenance experience is considered a definite asset
- Previous exposure to database maintenance would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Excellent attention to detail
- Own transportation a must; no bus service available
