CertainTeed Canada Inc. – Ottawa Insulation Plant
Our company manufactures fiberglass insulation for the construction industry and consumer markets. We are part of Saint-Gobain, the world’s largest and oldest building products Company. The plant operates 24/7 365 days of the year and has a unionized workforce under the Unifor. Wages are set by the Collective Agreement and currently range from $22.82 to $42.36 per hour. Included for full time employees is an attractive Sun Life Benefit package, issued uniforms, boot allowances and a generous vacation entitlement.
Red Seal Millwright/3rd year apprentice and Dual Licensed Millwright/Electrician – shift work for 24/7 Operation

- Night premium $1.60
- Position is permanent full time:
- Third year apprentice $32.95/hour
- Fourth year apprentice $34.69/hour
- Licensed Millwright $35.77/hour plus $.70/work hour
- Dual Licensed Millwright/electrician $42.36/hour plus $1.30/work hour
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the mechanic is responsible for:
• performing all duties in a safe and efficient manner following company safety standards
• performing and inspecting equipment, and maintenance on equipment
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends
• Millwright/Journeyman certification required
• Must be a team player
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Able to learn to maintain automated plant manufacturing equipment
• Must be able to interact, communicate and work effectively and professionally with all employees and management staff in a team-oriented environment professionally with all employees and management staff in a team-oriented environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to spend a significant amount of time on plant floor
• Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair climbing, lifting, and entering confined spaces
• Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards
