The Role:

This role is responsible for the operation of machines used in the fabrication, assembly, layout and framing of products in all lines. The Machine Operator will troubleshoot issues causing failures, drive continuous improvement of the production and maintenance operating, elevate issues impeding optimum performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform simple, routine, and repetitive tasks involving physical labor and is required to operate equipment and hand and power tools
  • Ensure the efficient operation of equipment used in the manufacturing of products according to established procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies
  • Manage preventive maintenance, safety, 5S and quality control processes and ensuring cleanliness standards are met in the work area
  • Operation of equipment used in the manufacturing of products according to instructions, on-time, and to the prescribed quality standard
  • Escalating issues that may impact production to the Team Leader or supervisor on duty
  • Ensuring required materials and supplies are available at all times
  • Actively participate in problem solving sessions and continuously identify improvement initiatives

 

You will bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Residential construction knowledge and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Ability to operate hand and power tool
  • Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong ability to work in a solutions-oriented environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and regular access to a vehicle
