SCOPE OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Manager, Sourcing and Procurement, the Stockroom Attendant receives, inspects, and organizes incoming materials and packages, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures materials are readily available for production needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and packages.
- Inspect deliveries for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
- Accurately record and document received items in inventory management systems.
- Label and store materials in designated stockroom locations.
- Assist in managing stockroom inventory, including cycle counts and periodic audits.
- Work closely with the team to monitor stock levels and recommend reorders when necessary.
- Help identify fast- and slow-moving items and alert the procurement team to maintain appropriate minimum/maximum stock levels.
- Supply materials to production staff in a timely manner to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Prepare and issue materials to production areas as requested.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
- Collaborate with purchasing, quality control, and production departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures related to inventory handling.
- Work collaboratively and safely with colleagues in cross-functional roles and departments for related projects.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of receiving and stockroom administration
- Experience in a warehouse, stockroom or manufacturing environment
- Experience reviewing inventory levels and making recommendations for inventory purchasing
- Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
- Experience and ability to operate basic material handling equipment.
- Experience using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using Sage and/or Misys is an asset.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- A mix of standing and sitting in the office area beside the plant operations. Some physical labour is required.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- May involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust and noise levels. Personal protective equipmentis provided.
- This position is on-site for all shifts.
