Your Role & How You Will Contribute As STB’s Head Chef, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen/dining hall and in the preparation and delivery of all meals at camp. The Head Chef will provide high quality nutritious meals for all staff and campers according to the Health and Safety standards. The Head Chef will be responsible for leading and supporting our kitchen team and creating and budgeting a weekly menu for staff and campers. Key Duties & Responsibilities This position reports to the Camp Director. Duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): ● Adherence to Food Handler policies ● Managing the kitchen team ● Ensuring knowledge of special dietary needs and food allergies ● Operating commercial kitchen equipment in a safe manner and maintaining all kitchen equipment ● Maintaining a clean and organized workplace to ensure food safety protocols ● Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to the nutritional guidelines set out in Canada’s Food Guide ● Planning of the weekly menu and completing the weekly food order ● Managing food deliveries ensuring all supplies are checked for quality, stored, and rotated properly ● Fulfilling other tasks as required by the Camp Director Qualifications Qualified applicants will have: ● Food Safe, Food Handlers certification or equivalent (e.g. MAPAQ and WHMIS certification) ● Able and willing to work with food under strict food safety guidelines ● Basic first aid ● All employees over the age of 18 years must provide a current Police Criminal Record Check
