Job Title: Regional Director - Champlain Community Support Network

Status: Full-time, Indeterminate

Hours: 35 hours/week

Position Summary

Ontario Health East has designated the Champlain Community Support Network to lead and advise Ontario Health East on the development of, and priorities for, community support services. Reporting to the Network, the Regional Director is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan, advising Ontario Health East on emerging sector priorities, and supporting members in planning and communications.

The ideal candidate is an experienced senior leader and manager with a strong dedicated commitment to advancing community support programs in Ontario Health East.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Strategic responsibility for, and coordination of, Ontario Health East funded organizational resources, including decision support, enabling technologies and capacity developers;
  • Facilitate cross-sector collaboration;
  • Enable sufficient stakeholder engagement to ensure the commitment of key players to the development;
  • Act as a spokesperson for the Network and represent the sector at local, regional, provincial and national levels;
  • Deliver effective Board, Ontario Health East, public and partnering agency presentations, to further the sector goal of increased public awareness and visibility;
  • Manage finances, including budgeting, expenses, reporting, and payroll in collaboration with the leadership team;
  • Supervise and lead the Network staff team. Ensuring the team has the required capacity to complete assigned projects through hiring, supervision, performance management, and facilitating opportunities for professional development.

Planning, Implementation and Evaluation:

  • Work with key players and organizational leaders to ensure that the impact of the network is evaluated;
  • Work in partnership with sub-regional and local tables, the CCSN leadership table, and the network staff to develop an annual work plan which defines action to implement the network's strategic direction;
  • Implement a systematic approach to improving business processes including strategic planning, annual work-plans and the review of funding/program proposals.

Support to the Network:

  • Assist the Chair/Co-chairs in the administration of CCSN;
  • Support specialized committees, advisory and working groups as defined by the CCSN;
  • Keep the network informed of trends and opportunities in the broader healthcare sector as directions develop provincially and nationally.

Best Practices and Quality Improvement:

  • Consult with provincial and national programs to identify best practices;
  • Develop a process for collecting and interpreting performance data, and develop an interactive feedback mechanism to stakeholders;
  • Develop a Knowledge Transfer and Project Sustainability Plan.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum Baccalaureate (Master’s preferred) from a recognized university in a health-related discipline, health administration, or a related discipline; or, the equivalent education and experience relative to the position;
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership and administrative experience;
  • Experience in strategic planning, human resources, program and financial management and a demonstrated proficiency in operational management;
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors;
  • Knowledge of the current community support services and health care delivery system;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and sustaining networks/partnerships and collaborative relationships;
  • Excellent project management skills/experience;
  • Experience in facilitating the operations of a multi-faceted program, considered an asset;
  • Ability to write and speak in English and French, preferred;
  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to lead, motivate  and influence highly motivated staff and membership, and build strong integrated teams;
  • Ability to write successful grant applications and funding proposals;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Network's mission, values and culture.
