Summary

The Children/Youth Program Team Lead ensures the effective implementation of programming within the Child/Youth department at Tamir. The Children/Youth Program Lead implements behaviour skills training and works directly with children/youth. The Children/Youth Program Lead is responsible for collecting data on programs, assisting with trainings/assessments as required, and providing direct client care in 1:1 and group settings as well as the administrative tasks associated with the program. The Children/Youth Programs Team Lead works under the supervision of the Executive Director for administrative tasks and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst to ensure clinical goals are being met for each client.

The following is a list of responsibilities that the Children/Youth Programs Lead is responsible for,

  • On-site supervision of the children and youth programs.
  • Intakes with new clients with the clinical supervisor which may include in-home/remote assessments.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of programming within the service
  • HR responsibilities in collaboration with HR dept in the areas of staff training, recruitment, development and retention.
  • Utilizes evidence-based procedures to help reduce maladaptive behaviours and increase appropriate socially significant behaviours with the support of the clinical supervisor
  • Ensure the implementation of individualized skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as per the clinical recommendations
  • Collect and record daily data on programs and observable client behavior.
  • Conducts staff in-vivo training
  • Assists with caregiver training based on the client’s individual treatment plan.
  • Effectively communicates with parents, caregivers, and others as required regarding client’s progress.
  • Provides a safe environment for the clients and staff at all times.
  • Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
  • Assists with assessments, preparation of materials, creating schedules for group programming to ensure effective programming for all child/youth in program, staff scheduling, and other tasks as designated.
  • Assists child/youth with life skills in areas such as toileting, handwashing, dressing, etc.
  • Works directly and indirectly with children/youth in the program.
  • Takes an active role working directly with clients when programs are running to serve as a model for staff.
  • Ensures files, documents, paperwork are up to date and uploaded into Tamir’s system
  • Provides a positive and collaborative working environment for all staff implicated within the program.

 

Candidate Qualifications

*MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK Sundays-Thursdays,

Sunday 8-4 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 12-8:00pm Wednesday 8:30-4:30.

THIS IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE*

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with children/youth in a group or 1:1 setting.
  • Related college or university degree
  • Collaborative, organized, flexible, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Microsoft office

 

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (required)
